Last Wed night we were pleasantly surprised to hear Buttons name dropped on the CBS comedy sitcom Gary Unmarried. Laird Hamilton guests on the show and when asked who has the strangest name in surfing immediately name drops Buttons! Thanks for the shout out bro!

Buttons is in the process of creating his autobiography-and you may be able to help! The surfing master is calling on those who have stories-good, bad and ugly as he says-to contact him so he and his co-author can craft his incredible life story.
Soon to turn 52, Buttons Kaluhiokalani has been a legend in North Shore surfing since his early years. During the 1970’s he pioneered a style of surfing that garnered him international attention and directly influenced following generations of surfers and other board sport stars.
Buttons’ life has been far from all triumph and part of his mission in writing the book is to try to help others avoid the pitfalls of early fame he suffered. Sober now for over three years, Buttons story is an inspiring comeback from the ravages of addiction, bad choices in business and abuse by those seeking to exploit his fame.

Newsreports of a giant swell approaching Christmas Day has big wave surfers and fans excited! This season has proven to be one of the best for big waves in recent memory-some 40 plus year old records being shattered.
Buttons will be demoing his coffee Saturday morning at Tropical Rush from 10AM til 1PM. Come by to meet the legend and try out his new brand!
